My Other Creations: Notebook using Dina Wakley's For the Love of Circles Stamp Set

Happy holidays, Happy 2019 and Happy Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!  The theme is Party Time, which is the sentiment I added to my notebook.

I wanted to experiment with Prima Oil Pastels, so I colored a circle stamp with them, spritzed it with water, then stamped it onto white watercolor paper.  Here's how it looked after I colored on the stamp:

Here are the two circles images, plus some patterns, after I stamped them:

Once my images were stamped, I used watercolor pencils to add some color around the edges of my cover.  Then I laid a polka dot stencil over everything and smeared mint-colored paint onto my whole page.  I added black paint to a mesh stencil and used that as a center line design.  I cut scraps of patterned paper and added them on and then I made the "Party Time" sentiment with my We R Memory Keepers typewriter.

Once the cover was made, I sewed it onto my Prima notebook and painted around the edges with black paint.

My Other Creations: Book using Sizzix Traveler's Notebook Dies and Inky Antics' Big Houses Stamp

"Stitch it Up" is this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme.  I stitched together a book using the Sizzix Traveler's Notebook die set.

A great way to paint a white piece of paper quickly and easily is to use a large gel printing plate.  I dripped and drizzled acrylic paint onto my 8" x 10" gel plate and transferred the paint onto a big piece of Strathmore Mixed Media paper.  Here's what the gel print looked like:

When the paint was dry, I cut out two covers for my book using the Sizzix Traveler's Notebook die and my Sizzix Big Shot.  I added a little more white paint to tone things down.

I also cut out the pages for my book using some old "ledger" patterned paper that I had in my stash.  These are all folded in half.

I decorated my cover and then sewed my cover pieces together using the spine-shaped die that I also cut out of my gel-printed paper.

I sewed my pages down the spine and attached them to my cover like so:

I had used a stamp from Inky Antics' Big Houses set as the focal point and added some yellow and pink from watercolors.

To finish it off, I added some fabric scraps and some paper pieces along the top and sides.

My Other Creations: Journal Page using Inky Antics' Big Houses and Tiny Houses Stamps

This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme is, "Warm Winter Wishes."  I live where there's A LOT of snow.  It gets cold and very...white.  I stay warm in my soul by thinking about my home and family and other things that give me hope and happiness.  I conveyed this with a journal page that I created with some of the new stamps I designed for Inky Antics.

The background contains some trellis die-cut shapes, some stamping, and a lot of color blending with Prima Oil Pastels and paint.  I sketched a plant that I fussy-cut and glued down, then I surrounded it with house stamping.

Here are the supplies I used, which you can find at Simon Says Stamp:

My Other Creations: Re-purposed Notebooks using Dina Wakley's Giant Funky Silhouettes

This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme is "B is for...."  I went with two brightly-colored books made with a boy stencil cut into different shapes.

I started with a collage that I made using Dina Wakley's Giant Funky Silhouette stencil, some patterned paper, stamping, more stenciling and lots of paint.

Then I got brave and got out the scissors and cut up my collage!

I liked how cutting this piece up gave me several smaller pieces of imagery to work with.  I added two of the panels to my notebooks.

These two notebooks came from one tall notebook (a Prima Traveler's Journal) that I cut in half.  Guess I was going all sorts of crazy with the scissors on this project!

Here are the supplies I used which you can find at Simon Says Stamp:
